Is there a sure-fire way to get rid of Creeping Charley?
What's wrong with vinegar? It's cheap, water soluble, and environmentally friendly.
Other alternatives are to smother with newspaper, cardboard or landscape fabric. Boiling water. Epsom salt followed by boiling water.
Salty bleach also works BUT if you have deer, this will attract more.
This is the most effective all-natural weed killer DIY that we use. It's even been featured on Hometalk! Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly

Hi Juanita,
It depends on where you want to remove weeds and if you want to plant something else in that spot. If you want to remove them from a driveway or sidewalk crack, by all means use salt & water (I'd actually use vinegar too but the salt should work) If you want to be able to plant other things in that spot or if they are in your lawn, I'd suggest boiling water. Leave out the salt because it affects the soil and nothing will grow in that spot for quite a while. I hope this helps you. Wishing you the best!
