It is referring to the strength of the salt. You pour anywhere from 1 TBSP to 1/2 c salt in a bottle then fill with vinegar. I used 1/4 cup salt when I mixed this formula and it worked great.

    Hi Kathy,

Vinegar and salt work great on a patio, sidewalk or driveway. One more piece of information that you should have is that you don't want to use salt in a mix if you have weeds in a garden or on your lawn. Salt kills the dirt underneath so nothing will grow for a while. If you have weeds in other places, it's best to use either plain white vinegar or boiling water to kill them. Wishing you the best.

One cup of salt, one cup of vinegar to two gallons of water in a garden sprayer. Saturate the weeds till dripping and no rain for a few days. The object is ti get down to the roots.

Probably talking about liquid dish soap, many recipes call for this suppose to help spray stick on plants but you want to kill roots not leaves. Best non-chemical way to kill weeds if you are using a 2 gallon sprayer use 1gallon vinegar 1 gallon lemon juice 2 cups salt mix well this is best for large areas of gravel, cement, sidewalks, patio pavers etc.. nothing will grow kills everything even soil. Adjust amounts of ingredients to size sprayer you are using.
