How do I get rid of snails from my flower bed?

Jbrown on Jun 06, 2016Saucer of beer helps, they go in and drown. Salt crystals around the edges of plants where they won't hurt the plant. Also don't water late at night but early morning instead.Helpful Reply

Michelle Leslie on Jun 06, 2016We also tried beer but it didn't work for us - I think we have a special breed of alcoholic snails though :-) The only way we got rid of them was to pick them off by hand. Yucky I know, but apparently it works. You could also try egg shells or pecan nut husks. I've heard that the sharp edges hurt when they slide over them.Helpful Reply

Saskie on Jun 06, 2016Mix up a spray of household ammonia and water (1 part ammonia to 10 parts water) and spray slugs in the evening when they are on the move. Provides nitrogen for your plants and dissolves the slugs.Helpful Reply
