Something is eating holes in my plants- help!

    Apply food grade diatomaceous earth,crushed egg shells,a plate of beer all for slugs.

    The egg shell are a good choice. They not only tear the tender skins of the slugs, but they also provide calcium for your garden. I looked up some information in Jerry Baker's gardening books. He said that slug go 'gaga' over graper juice. Here's his advice:

    1. Bury small shallow containers up to the rim under the plants (tuna can sounds about right) .

    2. Pour about 1" of grape juice into the container and walk away. Check them out the next day. If it is slugs, you will be able to quickly discern.
