If you have spiders in the bathroom it may be because they have a food source there. Spiders eat only other bugs. So, first step, look for other bugs and get rid of them. Use sticky traps placed behind the toilet, under the vanity and in the tub for a few days and see what turns up. Seal any cracks between the baseboards and the floor and wall with caulk. Sticky traps are also a good way to trap spiders. Look for webs and eggs (small brownish balls hanging in the webs) and get rid of them. Once you remove the adults, the eggs and the food source the problem will be lessened. Spiders are notoriously difficult to kill with pesticides though so unless you have an infestation I would not go that route. You should be able to get sticky traps at the hardware store or make your own by wrapping cardboard with upside down duct tape, sticky side up.

its time to think like a spider! Look for places that a spider would find food, corners, cabinets, behind the toilet (bleh!) take out folded towels, undersink instruments of survival (cleaners, bathroom tissue, rubber gloves, old paint...you know whats under there!) wash any and all closets, even the medicine closet...use a mild cleaner like green something or other, if you can tolerate vinegar use that...anyway the point is to clean as if a picky mother in law was about to judge your cleaning ablilities ...check around the window to see if the sash has any holes and plug those bad boys up (with spackle...get the pool boy to do this, oh, no pool boy? I guess you could use your own little fingers to push some spackle stuff in there). You'll live. Once the bathroom is sparkly clean from corner to corner top to bottom and behind, lo and behold! you shouldn't see anymore spiders...you've eliminated their food and possibly a nest or three (don't think about it)... once bathroom is put back together, go get a manicure, you deserve it! On your way back from the manicure go to dollar store and pick up some spider trap things and have said pool boy toss em under sink and behind toilet . good luck!

All drip or standing moisture or water sources must be removed and sticky traps do help a lot. Spray every couple days every couple weeks anywhere you see webbings, and all corners cracks and crevices with a residual chemical home/garden spray. Or you can always get some pet geckos.;)~

Put some dryer sheets used for sorting clothes in the corners, for some reason spiders don't like them.

I hard that lemon scented sprays or oils will repel them. They "taste" with their feet, so anything strong will repel them. They are there to eat other bugs. I have found they usually leave, or eat each other when the other bugs are gone. Make sure your bathroom window and any holes around plumbing are sealed well. This keeps insects from entering.
