After I stopped laughing (been there, done that), I had to tell you about the solar repellers I got on Amazon. They work with a strobe light and high frequency sound and are motion sensor. Since armadillos are almost blind in the day, the audio and flashing strobe actually do scare them. You can also spread shaved Irish Spring soap on the ground to mess up their sense of smell. Other than that, only a strong fence will keep them looking for easier pickins'.
Yeah, they don't care after awhile, will destroy everything and are NOT NATIVE to USA. 12 gauge or crossbow.
