Good Luck!
The only way I know of doing it takes awhile because you have to work around the flowers, and depending on how densely they are planted, it may not work anyway. I wet down about 6 pages of newspaper and lay it on the weeds I have cut down to ground level (or the area in which I have just pulled them up by the roots) and make sure the wet newspaper comes in full contact with the ground. Then I take cut up cardboard (corrugated) and wet THAT down just slightly larger than the newspaper and lay it on top of the paper and weight it all down with bricks on the edges. The idea is to block all sunlight. Leave it there and rewet as the cardboard dries up. This will take a month or so, and then didigence is the word to keeping the weeds from returning. If someone else has a better way, I would love to read it myself LOL. I hope this helps, and thanks for coming to Hometalk with your question :)
When looking for a natural alternative to herbicides, a cocktail of vinegar, salt and liquid dish soap has all of the ingredients needed to quickly kill weeds.
I mix a few drops of dawn dishsoap to a cup of water and add a a few tablespoons of vinegar! Spray only the weeds! I read Rubbing alcohol is cheap and it worked. You would want to add 5-10 tablespoons to a quart of water and spray on weeds. two tips depending on what you have on hand :)
vinegar or anything else will kill your flowers.Try boiling water directly on the weeds being careful not to touch the other plants.
Thanks
