Hi Lisa. I found the best way is to pull all of the weeds right after it rains. Then mulch the area. Most weeds are a annual and reseed themselves, so it is important to get them before they go to seed. Good Luck!
The round dollar weed that grows white roots under ground. Cannot get rid of them
Ortho has a weed-be-gone product made specifically for flower beds. However, I agree with Amanda that it is always a good idea to pull those stinkers out after a rain, add anti-weed bark, or mulch. The fabric doesn't work well for me. I use a heavy duty plastic. That's another option. Good luck!
Before the weeds come up, sprinkle Preen on your beds....Preen prevents anything coming up from seeds so be sure you don't use it on your flower seeds. Here in the midwest, I use Preen in mid April and then again in early June....Mulch and plastic could be better but too much work for me to do.
I have been hearing a lot about a product called Preen that prevents weeds. I have not tried it but think I will soon on my mulched areas to keep the weeds from coming through. The reviews of the product are very good.
