grow them in pots otherwise they can be very invasive. They are so thorny, it's a pain to prune them.

If grown in pots (which is a wonderful idea) be careful to watch them, because they love to grow fast and get runners on the ground where they will root and grow. So, check them daily or make sure they are in an area with no dirt around.

You are sure right about the thorns! How deep would the pots need to be?
