Yucca plants have an extensive root system that sends up new sprouts readily. This root system causes the plant to spread throughout the planted area and beyond, causing the plant to over take planted areas.
The best way to eradicate the plant is to cut the top of the plant off and dispose of it in a manner that will not allow it to grow back (place in plastic bag or another container that will not allow the plant to thrive). Remove as much of the plant and root as possible, then spray the roots with an herbicide that will kill the root of the plant. If needed you may want to drill a hole in the root (depending on its thickness) and spray a significant amount of herbicide to drench the root.
Hope this helps
