What is the best way to keep squirels from eating the sunflower seeds?

    I suggest you just plant a patch of sunflowers.

    Add cayenne pepper to your birdseed. Birds dont care but squirrels and deer are not happy.

    Apply blood meal to the ground where the flowers are planted,and spray them with a hot pepper and garlic solution.

    Try hanging a squirrel feeder that holds corn some distance away from the sunflowers. With a little bit of luck they will go for the corn and not the flowers. I did this but the blue jays beat out the squirrels which I really did not mind since they did not eat as much.

    Try sprinkling some soap shavings around them, once they get a mouthful, they;ll leave the sunflowers alone.
