What is the best weed killer , but not flowers in my flower beds?

    Recently read to use boiling hot water. Also read about a mixture of white vinegar, salt and dawn.

    Okay. If you are talking about using a weed killer...IN A FLOWER BED...these ideas work but the vinegar/salt changes the ph to one extreme and the baking soda to the other. It will kill the weeds and the extreme ph change will keep anything else from growing there too. Wait until after a soaking rain and pull your weeds...by hand...keep it up and your gardens will be somewhat weed free. Even using preem has pitfalls.

      Preem is a pre emergent...so weeds that are already there aren't effected. Only new weeds that start from seed are effected. You can stop emergent with corn meal...you don't need to spend $50 for preem.
