Wack it out with sledgehammer, wedge, maul and or mattock. If its rotted it should be much easier than a new stump.
Grind it out............
If it is rotted, you should be able to rake it level with the lawn. It will feed your lawn as time goes on. If you do not think it is all rotten, drill deep holes in it (a foot) and pour Epsom salts in them to speed the rotting process.
