I've used a basic Lawn Weed killer that attaches to the end of the hose. Going to do that today actually. :-)
I use Spectracide Weed and Feed in the Hose end sprayer.
Four years ago I almost lost my lawn to Creeping Charlie. Had only small patches of grass left. Tried everything available and nothing worked. Then finally I found a product that worked. Spectracide Weed and Feed. Within days Charlie was withering away. And slowly my lawn came back. Now I just spot spray when ever I see Charlie. Also great for clover. crabgrass, and many more.
Any of these "weed killers" also kill bees and other beneficial insects while also contaminating ground water. How about you change perspective and plant mint instead of grass or just to live with the 'weeds'. By the way, you could harvest them since many weeds are edible and can be used in salads....unless, of course they are sprayed with an herbicide.
