Wondering if a product is superior? Is there a perfect time? I've heard 2x in the Fall is good...have I missed that window?

You’ll need to know what kinds of grass you have that you want to keep alive, vs. kill. This is because different weed-n-feeds kill different grasses in addition to obvious things like dandelions. Then it’s down to reading the packages.

No, it’s not too late to apply fertilizers & weed killers. Be careful of rain run off because they can kill fish in our rivers & lakes, which already are contaminated from golf courses & agriculture.

Hi Julie. In the USA, this month aerate and keep mowing. Then in late October add a fertilizer that is right for your growing zone. Unless you have broad leaf (ex: dandelions) wait until spring and use a pre-emergent. Happy gardening.

    Hi Julie,

You should apply and weed & feed product when weeds are actively growing. That usually means in the late spring & summer, but fall might work depending on where you live. I don't think it's a good idea to put on 2 applications so close to each other. Especially in the fall when growth is slowing down. Here's an article about how to use weed & feed products. We don't use a lot of chemical products so I can't give you any information about which brand is better, but if we do use it, we usually buy Scotts. Wishing you the best. -Linda
