Couldn't Afford to Go to Holiday This Year so Brought It Home

$700

Easy
We got a 12 year old hot tub in bits but all the jets and pumps were working... we needed to seal it a bit and change 4 jets...so after spending a total of 700 $ we have our holiday resort at home
Its very dirty, so first we did cleaned all around and removed all wood surround and frame
All the wood was rotten and damaged
Even the floor under the hot tub
All stripped...time to put pumps back and connect, seal connections connect pumps to motherboard and last to get electric cable to connect
After placing all the pumps back ,we build the frame from 5x2 inch timber lengths, then we purchased cheap wood paneling timber lengths and build walls,so just color and oiling /we used fence care ...in dark oak and decking oil,to finish it/ we got second hand insulation boards 2 " inches thick and put them around all hot tub frame/except where is maintenance door/ and between insulation and wood panels we placed plastic film so no heat escape../hot tub is heating mostly from pumps working and not using 3 kw heater so much,,,so insulation is very important...we chose the insulation boards instead of foam firstly because the foam is very expensive and secondly we already got boards very cheap and had leftover from another project...
We filled it up for first time, and let it work with chlorine for hour, then we pumped water out and refilled it with water from the swimming pool because the pool is heated, we didn't need to wait for long to get hot tub up to temperature
Our first time in our new hot tub...yay its absolutely fab!
This is it all painted a perfectly working hot tub...we use it every day before bedtime and also popping in after swim
Enjoyed the project?

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
How did you know if the motherboard was in good working order? Was the spa yours originally? If not where did you get it? I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and to have a spa would be a dream come true... Thanks, Debbie
