Almost 2 weeks later, does this look like a normal concrete pour?

I would call the contractor back again to have a look.

I agree I would also call the contractor back to double check it. Maybe they can do another layer of sealer and that would take care of the streaks.

I'm bummed. I asked, and he said oh that's normal and I just have to let it cure. I can't make him do anything, and I have no idea how to fix it. In just about a month we are having our families over for Thanksgiving and this is the walkway in front of our house. My husband thinks we can lay our own sealant with a paint roller, but I'm afraid of messing it up even more.

Call the contractor and ask what kind of sealer he used. Could be the wrong type of sealer and/or it was too soon.

Did he say how long it will take for it to be cured? I wonder too if they used an incorrect type of sealer on there

Like Annie I would also like to know how long the contractor said this would take to cure. Just to be positive I goggled it and found it should cure (minus the sealer) within 7 days but is doesn't reach its full strength until almost 4 weeks.

Hi, so the contractor is now unresponsive. He said it'd take a few weeks to cure when I last spoke with him. He laid it 2 weeks ago. This guy has clearly been doing this for quite some time given all the reviews. I'm really surprised at how he's acting now. I'd be surprised to hear he used the wrong kind or too soon as he does concrete all the time (a ton of reviews). So I just don't know.

You could get another concrete contractor and see if they can check out the job or even look at your photos and maybe suggest a remedy or solution. They should be able to do this for free.

Bring over other professional contractors and pick their brains, the more opinions the better, document your findings.

Ok, I'll try to do that. I'm upset about it but can't expend more energy on it now.

How humid is it where you are? If it's still pretty humid, it may take longer to cure and dry. I would keep asking the contractor direct questions on how long it takes. Also research concrete pours in this DIY forum b/c I feel like I've seen a similar question pop up.

He also said it takes 28 days to clear up and that the concrete color would clear up. I live in Colorado, so it's cold one day, hot the next. Seriously, we had 80 degree days and then today high of 50. So temps are up and down and it's really dry here.

ITs hard to see, it looks even to me.

Yeah, it's not the evenness of the concrete but the splatter pattern of the sealant they laid.

Hello, great suggestion! I've texted, and do have responses. I'll take a picture every few days.

It appears the sealant is capturing moisture inside the concrete. It seems to me that it was applied to early and should have been after the concrete had complete cured. I would definitely have an issue with this.

Call the folk back that laid the drive and tell them your concerns.
