Decorating my front entry

Peggy
by Peggy
First of all I want to thank you all who have been offering help with the exterior of my home.
The roof, gutters and painting are complete.
Now the fun part but still would love input.
Keep in mind the door will be painted red and the concrete slab darker grey.
I have a black table and 2 chairs I can use for one side and was thinking a small bench on the other side
All black furniture? Rug color? Other decor?
thanks

You could accent the bench with outdoor pillows that have the red from the door in it and introduce other colors through it, especially if you do a black bench. Or you could introduce wood to warm it up and make a diy pallet bench or something. Same with the rug, maybe a patterned rug that has the red from the door in it?

Yes I definitely plan to incorporate cushions and a rug

I would add some large, metal elements (something like below) on the sides of the way in to the entry (on yellow brick), painted black. It would draw make the space more expansive, rather than feeling like to you are going into a dark cave.

With dark concrete, and dark furniture I would use color that coordinates or contrasts with the red of your door. You might consider a solar light on the table To make it look welcoming. Plants also make it look welcoming. Do you like something hung on the door?

I would keep it simple to show off that great door and stoop color. Use the table and chairs, but no additional furniture. An area rug in matching colors would be nice, but stop there. Sometimes, too much is too much!

I think a nice type of metal lacy wall hanging or a duo or trio of pieces to put together on the opposite wall of your table and chairs....so if you choose to sit and have morning coffee you can have a nice visual design on the wall to look at....just a suggestion....your space is your entry way, do not clutter it up with too much furniture or pillows or benches ....this is not a place to entertain anyone just for ingress and egress.....I also see nice concrete planters on either side of your entryway too...I would get some tall narrow shrubs like some small arborvitae or sky pencil holly for each ...will make for a great focal point to the entry and enhance curb appeal...

I would find an outdoor carpet incorporating red, black and white or cream colors. I would paint the furniture white to lighten up the area; add a couple of green plants, and voila!!!

how about a bench in the red and black and accent it with some flowers with the same colors

I would use a colorful door mat, potted flowers, and paint color of the furniture so it makes a statement.
