How to give my front porch faux stone panels

I want to give the posts on my front porch a craftsman look. Has anyone used the faux stone panels? I have only seen pictures and want to know if they have a "real" or "fake look". Any suggestions if you have used them?

Several homes in my neighborhood have had this similar Craftsman style update and the faux brick looks very nice.

Faux stone panels have come a long way since the 70's and 80's. Instead of fake looking brick on a 4' x 8' substrate of hardboard, they are made from high density polyurethane molded from real stone. They are as strong if not stronger than real stone and look like real stone. Lightweight and come in 2' x4' panels making them easy to handle. Most are tongue and groove so they slip together easily. Can be used indoor or outdoor.
