Your house is lovely! I think what it needs is foundations plantings of shrubs and grasses, etc. Something to soften all those straight lines. Maybe a new front door color?
Sorry! I just read the detail of your question. You were looking for colors! 🤦♀️ I actually love your shutter color - it’s classic and looks great with your roof and brick.
As far as your front door black is classic and sophisticated, but I’m partial to something bright and fun like yellow. :)
There are websites you can go to, upload a photo of your home and it allows you to experiment with different colors. It also depends on your personal preference. What are a few of your favorite colors? I personally use my computer's snipping tool, snip the photo I want to experiment with then click on the paint icon on the snipping tool pane and it opens the photo in paint and I can experiment with different colors. I did this with my kitchen to decide on a cabinet color and my exterior shutters as well.
You have a beautifulhome and I love the black (or dark) shutters! I'd suggest turquoise for the door or another unexpected color that you love. Additionally, some shrubs that bloom that are of varying heights would add some interest to the landscape. You could also paint the shutters but the black is great and the colorful door would add just the right pop of interest.
I love your brick home. It is very pretty. Color wise, I would start with my favorite color, then go from there. Get color chips or samples and paint on big pieces of cardboard and set them up by the door, shutters and garage door. And see which one you like best. The brick on your house is more of a traditional red brick versus a brownish red brick like my home. So pick your colors with that in mind. You can pick a different color for your front door and the shutters and garage door can be another color. The nice part of paint is you can always repaint if you hate the color you choose. LOL I wish you the best of luck and best wishes with your new DIY project.
Hello. Wow you have a beautiful home! I think your instincts are correct a new door color might be magnificent. I noticed driving around communities with brick homes the doirs cheerfully vary in color to suit the owners aesthetic.
I’ve seen purple yellow blues red blacks and graysused with brick. They are quite wonderful options to consider. Perhaps looking over at the visuals on Pinterest our Houzz might inspire you. Some people are more on afraid with colors and others you should choose what is pleasing to you.
Last summer we had our gravel driveway coverd in recycled asphalt. It was amazing how that improved the look of the house.
A nice but distinct edge around the drive would also look better. Sort of like when someone gets a trim at the barber.
Add some pops of color with plants and planters.
Paint your front door. Another place for a pop of color.
White washing the brick would modernize the place. Sorry but not a big red brick fan.
Add some landscaping. Trees or scrubs would add texture, interest and color and scent.
I think the colors of your home are classic . I would maybe consider changing the door color. Perhaps an awning over the door. Your plantings have not yet matured so I was thinking maybe a temporary white border fence would help until they grow bigger. Noticed you also have outdoor lighting which helps at night to highlight your home. Have fun.
Shutters are easy to spray paint. Remove and put on Dollar store show curtains for a drop cloth. Use Rustoleum 2X spray paint. It covers well and sticks well. If you keep the shutters black paint the door a pop or orange, moss green or turquoise. Add some type of interest around the shrubs, like landscape timbers filled with mulch. Add a tree in the middle of the yard with pavers around it in a circle and a bench.
Re surface the driveway. Edge the lawn where it meets the driveway. Add some color.. Blooming flowers
you need something that will go well with your brick color so go to paint store for the paint chips and see what looks good with your brick - but dark gray shutters would work and a door in tones of blue/gray
I would do black. Good luck!
How about white shutters and green door
Well the shutters do match the roof and u can add color few other ways. Colorful plants, stepping stones or maybe a small fountain or whatever ur n2. Go ahead put it front street. 😁
I love your home now, very classic. I would keep the shutters maybe paint the door black to unify and get a very colorful, large wreath for the front. This way the black is a great backdrop no matter the season and you can put so many beautiful wreaths or decor on it and they will pop.
Turquoise!
Color is very subjective so go with what makes you happy. Painting the door, leave the shutters, and add more landscaping in varying heights will bring the look together. Check out garage door ideas on Hometalk if you really want to file the lily.
Shiny yellow or navy would look great black shutters put up a trellis on the house for a climbing plant paint it white maybe get a garden sculpture
Ok thanks a lot great ideas omg you all are so helpful from all over
Wow!! You have a lovely outdoor space. Have you ever considered the possibility of adding a DIY Pond or a raised garden bed? I feel like both these things can add a lot of life to your yard space.
