I would suggest hanging a curtain over them. Here is an inexpensive one you can make with drop cloths: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzSJzHgbBZo
Hi Carolyn depending on budget you could consider rolling barn doors that slide from one side to the other. Curtains are always an option too.
Do you have room to frame them in like a closet? Then, sliding, barn or bifold doors would work. An alternative would be curtains. Good luck!
You could do curtains
Add a shower curtain(s) that you hang from the ceiling. Use a dowel rod, hooks or a shower curtain rod hung from a beam.
If you are not planning to get into the stuff that is stored on the shelves too often, I would suggest mounting a pull down roller vinyl blind on the ceiling, or on the top ledge of the top shelf (if the shelves are wood) . The vinyl would be easier to wipe down and keep clean than fabric curtains in a garage.
You can add a curtain with velcro on the top row of the shelves or hang from the ceiling.
You can hang all weather roller shades.
You could cover with a door or curtain or Velcro on the sage of the shelf and ata h material to cover them
I have seen people add a track top and bottom and add sliding doors.
Depends on your budget. Placing curtains or sliding door might be considered
Thank you all who offered suggestions. Will probably use curtains or drop cloths.
You could build a door around it you don't describ them are they across the wall up and down to the floor in a corner

You can hang drop cloth curtains over them, very inexpensive to make. You can see how I made some here: https://www.flippingtheflip.com/2016/04/keep-sewing-basement-curtains.html?m=1
It really depends on the budget that you have. You can definitely use curtain to save money.
I would think about adding a curtain on the same type of ceiling track system like they use in hospitals. That would give you the ability to open the curtain up easily and close when needed.
