How to make a small balcony look great?

Add a small outdoor carpet and place a bistro set on top Make a container planting,use solar lights,and hang a wind chime

I live in a second floor apt with a small balcony. I'm on a fixed income so just before Spring I shop in my local dollar store and find many items I can use to dress up my balcony. I use beaded hangers to hang colorful spinners off of and I don't use wind chimes because to noisy for my neighbors plus very windy here. I bought planters from the dollar store and planted colorful flowers. I have a table in one corner covered with pretty outdoor fabric from local fabric and craft store using a coupon. I have a white plastic chair next to it. I just sit the chair in my bath tub to clean it when needed. I have dollar store solar lights in my planters. Outdoor lights around the top railing. They have many items you can put in your planters that spin in the wind or just stake like the metal star for 4th of July I bought today. I just check out my local dollar store or discount store and find many treasures to use but you do need to watch what your doing because we don't want to get tacky. I must say I'm very lucky where I sit in my living room to look out over my balcony thru the sliders so I want to enjoy the view not get crazy decorating to much. Next I'll hang a American flag on my side wall for 4th of July.

I put plant hooks, 3 of them on the outside of my deck. I used chain for a hanging light and hung a planters off of each of the chains. Plants in the corner with solar lights and then strung lights across the front on a time.

we have a small back porch with a slanted roof. I hang up extension rods & use inexpensive fabric shower curtains on it to make almost like a cabana ...we have 2 hanging hammock chairs ,& a spinner that hangs overhead ,plus a 5 rod wind chime that makes the space feel restful.[the shower curtains protect from extreme heat from getting in the house in the afternoon and we can still enjoy the balcony when raining.
