How would German Shmear hold up on an old Savannah brick sidewalk?

I have an very old and much in need of a face lift, Savannah brick sidewalk. I'd like the German Shmear technique but can't find any opinions on applying it on a sidewalk. I read it's permanent and very difficult to remove and since I need to power wash said walkway 2 to 3 times a year because of a build up of mold, is shmear tough enough to withstand the pressure.

As far as I know German Shmear is for walls, and therefore would not hold up to being walked on. ,Better to use something like a Tarmac or resurfacing product on your walkway Best wishes Tile or Pave over it..........
You would have to smear with concrete or mortar mix.
