buy some inexpensive thick plastic fabric at Joann's...I did for my blue and white ceramic table with red geraniums- love it.
..oh- forgot- CLEAR plastic fabric, of course.
You may want to get some Marine Polyurethane and apply several coats, it should last. You can get Marine Polyurethane at most home centers.
