My carport is made of metal with pockets ,how to cover?

My carport is made of metal with pocket, I just want to cover it so the leaves and pine needles do not get into the grooves and then I have to climb a ladder to clear them out.

How about a canvas or tarp?
I think you are talking about gutters, not pockets... they collect rain and direct it away from the house or in this case, the carport. Leaf guards can be bought at most big box home improvement stores that will fit over the gutters and keep leaves and other debris from collecting in them.
