Painting upholstered outdoor patio furniture

I have a large amount of outdoor upholstered furniture that I want to paint or dye. The spray cans don't look cheap. Would using Rit dye in a Garden Sprayer work? Does anyone have any suggestions on what would be the most economical?

Big question are they covers that come off the furniture?

You can paint those with American paint Company Paint , it's a Chalk base and comes in Multiple colors. BUT you would also need to apply a thin layer of Wax as well to soften the paint layer or it will be still and the paint would rub off onto clothing if not sealed with the wax. Also it's nothing that you could leave outside in the elements :( so you would have to bring the cushions in after each use. I have also seen spray painted and regular Latex painted cushions as well, most are still going to give you that "stiff" feeling . If the cushions are bad then maybe it's time to replace them but if you just want s color change it may be less expensive to make covers for them from a nice outdoor fabric . If you really want to paint them be sure to use a paint that is ok to leave out in the rain as well as one that won't transfer if it gets wet.

If painting is the direction you want to go, go to your local craft store and check to see if they have fabric spray paint. If you have an upholstery store they may have spray dyes. THE RIT DYE IDEA IS A GOOD ONE. I WOULD JUST CALL RIT AND ASK THEM. I'M SURE THEY WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL. THERE ARE MANY FURNITURE SPRAY PAINTS YOU CAN FIND AT PLACES LIKE LOWES, HOME DEPOT AND OF COURSE, THE CRAFT STORES.
