I would use a power washer.
Power wash them!
We power wash ours too!
You can just wash them with a cleaning solution made for brick or cement and a broom or brush and lots of elbow grease.
Depending on how 'old' they are and how long it has been since they were installed, it may be time for a renewal application of the polymeric sand that holds them together. This process will first require pressure washing though to remove all the remaining bits of old sand and dirt.
If there are any stains, Goof Off and a scrub brush will help remove them.
