Any ideas on making a really REALLY inexpensive deck?

When it rains I get a lot of water on the concrete that's between my garage and yard. Its a small area, maybe 8x9. I thought making a deck would be optimal so that we could walk on it instead of wading through water. Our washer and dryer are in the garage so it makes for a huge mess when it rains. Any ideas?

One word - palettes. I have seen some really cool walkways and decks made of palettes. They can be stained or painted. You just have to level the surface and put bricks or concrete pavers down to keep them from touching the ground. Type in palette decks on google and look at the images.

Yes, they used pallets (taken apart) to make a little bridge like over a tiny creek. So cute.

Pallets would be my answer also. There are so many ways to reuse them.
