What is in the cracks? Can you post a Photo?
Hello. I’ve had a cement patio. Can you plant a moss type or small fast growing plant there? There is a tiny creeping and mossy thing for walkways. Ask your local plant store for ideas.

You can also use stone dust to sweep into the cracks to fill in
You would need to scrape off the adhesive. You can use a long handle ice scraper and save you back and knees. Dig the moss out of the cracks with a screwdriver. Shop Vac all the dirt and debri. Then fill the cracks with a concrete crack filler. Comes in plastic bottles and caulk tube. Then you can paint.
