Wanting to concrete area at base of our steps; how deep should it be?

Area will be 6ft x 8 ft. Will be using quick-Crete.

    your concrete needs to be 4 inches thick, under that a base of rock and reinforcing wire. Rock should be 2 inches thick compacted down with wire on top of the rock. If you skip any steps, your patio will crack or heave. If you are where there is no frost or freeze you can use sand instead of rock base
