What can I do to fix an old birdbath up?
I have an old concrete birdbath that the decorative top broke on, any suggestions on what I could use to replace the top? I need to replace the pump also, maybe something solar?

the pan for a flower pot works well -- they're shallow, usually plastic, and inexpensive -- you can place a decorative stone or ornament in the center to 'weigh it down' .... not sure about your pump --- solar pumps have to be in water at least 3" deep -- and if they drift to the edge, can drain the pan and burn out their little 'pump' ... Birds don't like water that is too deep ...
did the connection for the pump break? or is part of the edge damaged? there is concrete caulk that is waterproof and is used to fill cracks in driveways, etc. you might try that ...
You could make a waterfall from some medium/small rocks. Easy to build up around tubing for a pump and also easy to set up with a solar water feature!
Good idea! Thanks!
I would get a solar pump, but if you already have power, then a replacement electrical pump would be cheaper. Your topper would be your decision, since you didn't supply a photo. Construction adhesive can fix it in place.
Hi,
You might be able to buy a replacement concrete top for the birdbath. Try eBay? or Garden centres, You might be able to use a very large Plant Pot Saucer or old Cooking Pot or Bowl. All worth a try!
