What kind of decking would be best around an above ground pool?
We currently have a half deck around it but the decking boards are going bad. We didn’t know what to do to fix it.

You could replace them pressure treated wood which will last for a little while, but composite or aluminum decking will last longer.
We have composite around our AGP. It's nice, but even though it does hold up better than pressure treated, it still wears over time, and fades. So of the boards are popping up and we;ve had to rescrew them in some places. Also it does get really hot! This isn't to sway you away from composite, but wanted you to know that it is very expensive and will hold up, but there will still be some wear and tear down the line. And of course the company we purchased ours from went out of business so no refunds!
Be sure to replace them with wood intended for outside use - such as pressure treated, use screws to put the deck together, not nails and it will last longer too.
