Exterior Piaint Colos

The home is 66 years old built in the 50's, it is aluminum siding. I bought the home in 2011. The home has not been properly care. I would love to get input on color and trim/window box colors, but do not want beige or brown. Thanks!

What a darling home! Would you consider a nice grey siding (if you're considering changing the siding) How black or charcoal shutters and a red door? I would heft up the window boxes to give them more presence and then plant some trailing annuals. Paint the window boxes the same as the shutters. Lucky you, it's a really good looking place!

My house has white aluminum siding with green and taupe trim and green shutters. When I bought the house it was white and after debating the color of the house itself, I decided on the white and green. It's the color I fell in love with when I first saw the house and decided to keep it. Any color shutters door will go with the white. It was painted about 10 yrs ago with Sherwin-Williams paint (I can get the name if you'd like) and has held up beautifully. Re-siding is expensive and I'm glad I just gave my aluminum a freshening up, any color you choose.

Pale gray for siding. Charcoal not black for shutters. Charcoal gives the same effect as black, but is not as stark. Then a beautiful bright aqua for the door. See pics.

Don't seem to have a picture of the house (don't know where it went). I'll take one as soon as the weather clears. BTW, I do like the gray.

Take a look around your neighborhood- what are the colors most used? what is the most interesting house and why? do you want to stand out? blend in? here in Iowa i have the bake and shake thing happening- bake all summer, shake in the winter. the colors you chose will absorb heat- some more than others. darker-more heat absorbed, and possibility of bubbling and peeling of the paint. lighter colors- less heat. consider how long will you be living in this house- a few years, a lifetime? if a few years, go safe and conservative., If this is the NO WAY I"M MOVING house- go crazy with your favorite colors.

I would do the house and foundation in light gray. I think that the foundation needs to be the same color as the house. I painted my (ugly) brick house and foundation to match and it made a big difference. A nice red or turquoise front door would be so pretty! Or yellow. Dark gray shutters and white window boxes. I think that would be so nice!
