How can I change exterior satin paint into semigloss for a garden shed
I painted my garden shed with exterior satin paint, but now, after seeing how dirty it can get, I'd like to topcoat it using the remaining paint in a semi-gloss, if possible.

Perhaps you can clean off the accumulated dirt, etc. and use a glossy top coat for outdoors, like perhaps a marine grade poly.
Excellent! Thanks.
You can over it with the same color made in semi gloss.
Yes to both above. Clean the building well and let dry. If the finish is smooth you'll have to sand it to rough it up then clean again. You can't turn satin paint into glossy so you'll have to buy some glossy exterior paint to repaint it. Time consuming and a lot of work but doing it right should help it last so you don't have to do it again for a while.
Your best bet is to go over it with an outdoor polyurethane in a semi-gloss.
Clear poly in semi-gloss can be applied over the paint.
