Hi! If you have metal siding, you'll want to use paint meant for exterior metal . Pressure wash and scrub it clean, first. As for colors, I would stay away from traditional mobile home colors like harvest gold (I used to own one of those) unless that's what you really like. What about a soft gray with white trim?

  • A lighter, neutral color is a good choice. Then it can be dressed-up with shutters and a door in a color that can 'pop'.

Hi Pam. The best place to go is to the Paint Section where they have Free Cards with Color Samples for exterior paint.

Spend about 2 or 3 hours to Pick out about 50 or so that you like alot.

Bring them home and look at these colors for at least 3 weeks.

Seriously, make these your Kitchen Table and Den Decor for a while.

    Put them aside remote controls.

    Put them in Napkin Holders.

Eat Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner looking at them.

Make sure the family does too.

Put them between Salt and Pepper Shakers.

Serve the family Spaghetti and the sloppiest foods you know.

Tape them to cereal boxes if you have too many.

In 3 weeks or less you will figure out which ones the family collective mind most likes. How?

The ones that are least sloppy and haven't been used for

    • napkins

    • paper towels

    • tissues

    • swatting flies

    • sweeping up crumbs and slops

    • scraping up dropped meatballs

or otherwise discarded, are the ones your family's collective mind most like.

And you know what? They're right!

    Trust me, this works.

It may sound crazy, but If you can't stand a color in your life 24 hours a day for 3 weeks, you sure as heck can't stand it in your life 16 hours a day for 20 years.

Hi Pamela, sorry you are having a hard time picking colors for your home exterior. Pick something you can live with and really like. You may also want to pick something you can put a compliment color with or change it. Good luck and I hope this was helpful.

Hi Pamela. I think a light shade of gray would look nice. With bright white trim. I think the light gray works because it gives a timeless look. And the white trim will give it a clean crisp touch.

If you are trying to choose an exterior color from different color swatches, make sure you look at them outside, during different times of the day.

Paint can look quite different indoors, when exposed to artificial lighting.

How to get colors to paint the floor in the bathroom

  • Pamela Pamela on Feb 08, 2020

Go with what you like ! Think about what plants you plan on growing for contrast .

Also know that you need to see if your house will be in the shade of full sun , this will have an effect on the color , it might look a shade of two darker , if your house is in the shade , or brighter if it is in the sun .

Hi Pamela, do you want your home to stand out or match the environment and be similar to other homes in the area, you will be looking at it for a long time, so pick something you really like, myself I picked a medium grey shade and had our stucco house sided with that, it looks clean and just like a new house now!!

    Hi Pamela,

Do you have any pictures you could upload for us to see? You would first need to ask yourself whether you want the home to stand out or blend in with the surroundings. Then see how close your neighbours homes are, and what colours will look good between them. Then decide whether you want an allover colour or you wish to pick out the trims and doors etc. Last of all Go get Pant charts from the store and play around with the colours to find just the combination that's right for you! Best wishes, Enjoy the journey...........
