I have to repaint the outside of my front door which is metal. We have light grey siding and white trim. I know I need to scrap off all peeling paint and clean my door. But what is the best cleaner and paint for the job. Would like to not do this again for a while! The old color is white, thinking of a dark charcole for the new color.

Sand it down and use oil base paint u won’t regret it. Charcoal sounds wonderful. Paint stores that carry Benjamin Moore paint should still have oil base paint.

Thanks, but was told oil base paint will fade? I will check them out for sure.

Go straight to Rustoleum 3X, in a spray can or quart can. You need a paint that is generally weather resistant, clings to metal, and lasts a long time. You may need two coats if the color or temperature changes are drastic. Behr and other quality paints carry a line of these paints, too. This is one case where expensive usually pays off. Best wishes, Vgb. ☺️

painted a dark green and is about 6 years old. No fading. Must be high quality paint.
