I’ve stained and painted my patio everything just peels off ! Help!!

I used myrick acid and pressure washed my patio let it completely dry and stained it but it won’t adhere to concrete, i also painted it and the paint peels off. Help! I’ve seen people stencil their patio to look tiles that is what I want to do. I’m also need adv on a color that wont show dirt as much, I have 3large fur babies.
A big job: Strip paint with a grinder (you can rent these). Repaint. Apply a sealer.
Maybe you need to apply a few coats of primer first.
They make special concrete paint. Oil based?
You need to determine if you still have some sort of sealer on or in the concrete. Clean a section and spray water on it. If the water beads on the surface, it has some sort of sealer or curing compound. Acid etching might remove it (or some other chemical method) but the only sure-fire way to get rid of it is to grind it off.

I painted mine with concrete floor paint, but I persnally have not done the stencilling on this house, but I had it done at another house. Loewes has a color pallette just for concrete floors--indoor & outdoor.
If its over concrete you need a paintable sealer coat first. Depending on the project you may even be better off using a rubberized barrier to seal moisture in since concrete breathes and moisture under the paint can cause the peeling. Unfortunately you may have to strip the product you applied to do this project properly.

we painted our patio and had the same results, only on a larger area. We are planning on redoing the patio, but I think that I agree, we will strip the paint and put down a sealer then stain it. I also wanted to do some sort of stenciling. decisions decisions!
If it was painted before you need to test it to see what kind of paint was used. To do this power wash it and let dry. Then soak a cotton ball, Q-tip or soft rag in alcohol and rub it back and forth over the cleaned area. If paint comes off, it's latex and another coat of the same is in order. If the paint doesn't come off, it's oil-based, and an oil-based primer is a must. You can also use acetate to test it. The paint department at most home improvement stores can help you.
