I would keep the black shutters and go for a turquoise door to add a pop of color but still keep it classic and traditional. Here are 20 ideas you may find helpful if you don't like mine:)

Door can be your favorite color. I have seen them in orange, teal, bright green etc and they look great. I wouldn't do door and shutters the same color. Two different shades of the same color would be great. If your favorite color is say, green go for forest green on the shutters and a brighter green on the door. If it is say blue, then try a dark teal on the shutters, and a brighter turquoise on the door. The siding company websites offer a place where you can upload a picture of your house and try on color using their tools.

Maybe start with the front door color - it's easiest and my just be the change that you're craving. I'd suggest a bright color that will draw your eye to the front door. What's your favourite color?

Shutters either black or dark brown. Go with a pop of color on your front door with turquoise, yellow, red, bright blue, or another color that will jump out. Add some large pots that will co ordinate with the color you choose. Add some decor items on the porch as well.

  • You can use different colors for the shutters and the door. How about keeping the shutters more neutral with a slate gray and then making the door pop with a beautiful statement color that is one of your favorites. Hope this helps! Your home is beautiful. Hugs, Holly

Maybe the shutters should be several shades lighter than the brick. A brownish gray? Try it in William's "color visualizer"

Years ago I was watch an HGTV program an Interior Designer hosted. She was talking colors for front doors. Her advise was to pick Your Favorite Color, and paint the front door that color. And I believe that advise still holds true today. A bright favorite color will bring attention to your door and give it importance.

Sometimes color depends on location! Vibrant tropical mixes may pop but be out of place where your home is.

Your front door is kind of tucked away, leaving large shutered window the actual focal point. What color is the siding? It looks maybe yellow, and white columns in front? Black roof. Brown brick.?

I would pull maybe all the shutters from that big window. Liking tan instead of black on rest, including front door. Bright White accents on trim! If still want pop of color do easy, fun, go coral on front door. : )

I would do a lighter tan or gray for shutters and front door. They're neutral enough that you can add in lots of color with flowers.
