Did the directions recommend a primer or dealer before the porch paint?
was the porch totally dry before you started?
If the porch was not completely dry prior to the application of the cement paint that would be the cause of the peeling.
Thank you for your quick response. I neglected to mentioned porch floor is wood. We did, I thought let it dry long enough. Who knows. Thanks again.
I remember my father painted our front porch when I was eight. The can said "gunmetal gray", so I asked if the paint was bulletproof. He also painted the porch ceiling the same color to keep down flies. He said it was boat paint because that lasted longer. (If you still have the can somewhere, read it for guaranties. The paint store still might give you some store credit if you insist.)
I meant sealer! Not dealer!!
I remember my brother had the same problem and later found out the paint was pealing because the wood had been treated. (wolmanized?) He had to scrape it and gave the wood time to season before painting it again. That solved the problem.
Boat paint sounds like a great idea. We always use deck stain, as stain does not normally peel. But high sun areas need to be re-stained at least every other year.
Porch is wood. Probably the original porch when house was built.
