I think I'd use a 'brick red' as is showing in the bricks and your front door; don't see where grey would complement; or perhaps a very light 'cream'
No it look awful because it chip and you half to keep repainting.
I agree with the brick red.
Once you paint your steps and porch, you will be painting it FOREVER. Be sure you are ready to repaint them in the not-too-distant future. If you must, paint them brown or cream. That's appears to be an orange in the brick, not brick red.
That is a very personal question with regards to color choices. Personally the contrast you have now looks great, however if that is not the look you want to keep I would opt for a different color.
paint them the color of the grout in your brick.
Plant a moss or ground cover to grow over the pebbles. Rocks are useful but cold and uninviting.
The railing could be shiny black to give a nice contrast with the bright blue door.
take a scraping of the 'red' brick part that is showing on the actual brick and try to match it -- don't think it would be too 'bright' if it matched what I'm seeing in the picture -- but color in a photograph and in 'real life' may not be the same!
Whatever color your grout is in your brick. I would paint the railing black. I think black railings always look great no matter what. This is just my personal opinion. Do you have any software on your computer where you can download the pic you posted. I did this with my aunts house to show her what her shutters would look like a different color. I think Sherwin Williams or Benjiman Moore have something on their site where you can down load a pic and change the colors. That might give you an idea before you make your decision. Please post a pic when you're done. Would love to see it.
I am with Chubby... black. if you paint the porch you may regret it as someone mention. I have seen it happenš
It is hard to tell from a picture but it looks like there are too many colors that don't match or blend together. Look at the "pink" trim around the sky light and the yellowish trim around the door/ceiling.
That's why I thought the bright blue door would work. It's a good contrast (not trying to match) and it's a real focal point.
The railing is a nice color but doesn't work with anything else.
I like colors that compliment each other. If you paint the steps and landing, I'd go with a deep rust red but with the BEHR DECK OVER. (Also for patios/cement) It has 2 different levels of grain to keep the cement rough to avoid slips. I think the railing should be shiny black and the front door matching the steps or another totally different color to make a "statement".
I understand about the ground cover. Too hard to keep neat and clean.
the brick is so spotty I'd opt for at least a darker rust color --but the other comments about having to repaint frequently are on target -- you may just want to live with natural concrete -- unless that it is already painted!
I like the idea of a brick red!
I agree with the others, don't use paint. Why not a concrete stain but not gray, choose a color similar to the brick.
