Repainting an antique - help!

My mum bought this dog in an antique store about 25 years ago. She’s given him to me now. He was already losing nose paint and through moves, age and sunligh, he is losing bits of paint. Would it de value the dog to paint his nose? What some of your opinions please?
Nose is not black.
A very cute piece! It all depends on the value. Do you know the manufacturer? I would have it appraised first before starting to repair.
This is Carnival Chalkware and some of these pieces are worth a bit of money, but not a fortune by any means. I have several chalkware dogs, and they are ALWAYS chipped and peeling when found. Since I'm not concerned about the little bit they're worth, I have re-painted all of them, and I'm glad I did. You can eliminate those garish, carnival colors and make them your own.

Hello! An antique dealer will be able to determine the value of your piece and whether any repainting or repairs to it would decrease its value or not. Best to assess value first and then decide the best course of action. Good luck!
I think it’s cute with the wear and tear. That is what makes pieces unique i think.
Don't do anything to it. You can devalue it by 50% to 60% by touching it up. It looks like a pembroke welsh corgi. Are there any makers marks on the bottom of the base?! A photo of makers marks, if there are any, would help. You don't mention it's size but looks like around 12". It can be worth anywhere from $50+ to $100 +.
