I'd say the same thing. Use spray paint. Try to do it outside and protect the area underneath and around the edges with a large cardboard box or a plastic tarp. Good luck.
Spray paint. We used rustoleum oil rubbed bronze on a white mesh patio table and four chairs it turned out wonderfully and has weathered outdoors for over a year. We did sand the rusty spots a little to prep.
