Step one is to sand or strip off the existing finish.
Applying stain with a rag helps to control exactly where the stain goes.
Steel wool is a great resource while applying wax.
The more you buff, the more shiny and durable your surface will be.

Is the paste wax the same kind as sold in automotive depts.? Why is it applied with steel wool?
