Hello! Thought since it seems a lot of people are skeptical about painting upholstery, that I would give some insight on my experience painting this leather chair that I did for a friend of mine for her nursery! My mind was blown with how it turned out. No cracking or peeling at all! I will be doing more of these for sure!
A friend was looking to update this chair for her nursery, I said " let's be daring and try painting this bad boy!" I had been curious to try it, but was a little skeptical.
Finished product with matching end table!!
I cleaned the leather first and painted while it was still wet for better spreadability:) it took about 3 coats to completely cover. I also sanded the legs down and painted them Sherwin Williams' Alabaster White to match the end table. So chic!!
Suggested materials:
  • Annie Sloan paint in Graphite, AS clear wax, Rub n Buff silver leaf for upholstery studs.   (Back Porch Mercantile in Knoxville, Tn)
