Bamboo Chairs Upcycled - Hideous to Stylish!

Two years ago, I spotted a pair of bamboo chairs at a local flea market. I have a thing for upcycling old chairs so naturally they caught my eye. My husband wasn't a fan and immediately said they were "hideous." I'm sure the last thing he wanted to do was pack them into our SUV. The chairs were only $14.00 so how could I walk away? Besides, I knew they were going to come out fabulous with some fresh paint and new cushions.

Literally months after I bought these chairs, I started seeing them everywhere! Just like fashion, furniture styles come back in vogue years later.

Here's the "Before" photo:
This is how the chairs looked after spraying 3 coats of Rust-Oleum white paint. (P.S. Check out my blog link at end of post to see what else I used to add extra weather protection.)
Painting the chairs wasn't the only thing the chairs needed, of course. This seat cushion was exactly the look I was after!
The chairs needed a back cushion to tie in the full look! Hello, gorgeous Ikat pillow!
I love the side view of the chair. Look at the gorgeous bamboo detailing!

I liked them from the get go : ) The basic structure is quite nice. It's so wonderful what you can do with a little time, paint and some awesome pillows!!! These are fabulous. I'm sure your hubby likes them now...(mine totally does not get it either lol

Lol! Most hubbies just don't have the vision. Haha. That's why I always ignore his commentary and go with my gut. Lol! It never fails me :). Thanks for commenting!
