Black Painted Piano

A piano that was passed along to us works perfectly, but no longer fits the design style of our home. Instead of looking for a new piano or hiding it in a different corner of the home we brought it back to life and gave it a whole new look with paint and furniture wax.
The beginning project. The piano was in beautiful condition, but no longer fit the design style of our home. So to prep for painting we needed to do was remove all decor from the piano top and wipe away any dust or debris and then tape off the piano.
After carefully taping around the keys, pedals and remaining hardware we began painting by trimming along the tape and getting into the hard to reach corners.
I skipped painting the inside of the piano bench, but I did trim out the edge under the piano bench lid. After the trimming was done the entire piano was painted a total of two times.
I skipped sanding or distressing the finished piano because I see this as something that will continue to be passed along, and not everyone will want a distressed piano! The final step was a coat of dark brown wax that was rubbed on. For more information on how to paint your piano and other great home tips and ideas head over to the original blog post!
