Chalk Paint Coastal Cottage Table Makeover
I recently had an opportunity to try out some chalk paint and I decided to use it to give a thrift store table a much needed makeover. I wanted the table to have an aged coastal feel to it as if it was worn by the salt and sand of a beach over time and that was easy to do with this chalk paint.
I started with this ugly table that nobody wanted. It was dirty and had black smudges across the top and was an outdated oak stain that had to go!
So I gave it two coats of Chalk Country Paint in "It's Jade".
For dimension and aging I dry brushed some Chalk Country Paint in "Crisp Collar" into the crevices of the table.
Then I wiped most of the white paint off with a dry paper towel, but left traces of the white showing.
Then I took some fine grit sand paper and roughed it up a bit in the places where the table would be naturally worn. See the white paint and the distressed areas?
After applying wax my table is finished and I LOVE it!
