Deep Green Accent Chair

Everyone needs a fun accent chair at their front door, desk or bedside to sit or put clothes on right? Follow along as this solid maple chair goes green.

Every piece I refinish has a complete scrub down to start with warm soapy water with some TSP. It removes grime and grunge and gives the paint a clean surface to adhere to.

After it was rinsed well and completely dry it was time to paint. This is always the exciting part to see the biggest change.

But I was stumped whether to paint it Fusion Mineral paint in bayberry green or buttermilk yellow. I put out a poll on my Instagram account and it was a split decision.

Which color would you have voted for??

I went with the rich deep bayberry at one of my daughters suggestion from the start. Two coats were applied with my Fusion angled 2" synthetic brush.

A light sanding to distress the edges just a bit and smooth the paint then Fusion Mineral Paint black wax was added. This deepened the forest green color even more and gave it a lovely sheen. This boring old chair now has pizzazz and purpose for many more years to come.
