Dining Room Table Makeover

by CHELSEY
This was an EASY DIY project that me and my grandfather and I did together.
First, I bought this scratched up table from a lady in my neighborhood for $15. It is extremely heavy and came with a leaf.
I took the legs on of the table
I then sanded the table down to the bare wood with an electric sander and then i stained it. I only did one coat of stain. I couldn't believe the colors that popped thru the wood! last, i used a poly to seal it it (2 coats)
Next, I panted the legs of the table. No sanding involved!

I used the Amy Howard brand of chalk paint, and dark wax to go on top. I wanted to give it that antique look. I loved the way it turned out. and it was effortless.
Next, I re-did the chairs.

the bottom-middle picture is the original chairs that i also bought from a lady in my neighborhood.
I again, used the Amy Howard chalk paint and dark wax on the wood (no sanding required), and then reupholster the seats. i went to Joanne fabrics, picked out my favorite fabric and had some foam laying around in the basement that i used for the cushion. Cut the foam to fit, covered it with my fabric, and stapled it to the bottom of the chair
