An Auction Find Gets an New and Inspired Look

A coffee shop was going out of business (sad for them) and having an auction (happy for me)! And that's where I snagged this harvest table for a steal! It was a bit rough so I came up with a plan to stain the top and paint the bottom.
I was inspired to do a combination of staining the top and painting the base.
Step 1 had to be taking off the top finish. It was pretty rough. This is a picture of it half sanded, half not.
Before and After of the top of the table. I sanded down the top, re-stained it, and covered it with a couple coats of polyurethane.
I antiqued the base of the table using homemade chalk paint, some sandpaper, and finished it off with tinted wax for an aged look.
It seems to fit into the dining room just as good as I imagined it would.
I love how it turned out and really brings a depth and age to the table. Check out more of the details and photos of the how-to and the end result on my blog!
